Featuring private, renovated traditional houses in a modern Japanese style, the design hotels offer 5 different accommodation houses in 5 different locations throughout Kyoto. All the townhouses are able to accommodate guests from a short to mid-length and long-term stay in a warm and cosy environment. Guests are welcomed in a lobby, and a laundry service is available for a fee. The townhouses are situated in 5 different locations. The Kohakuan property is situated at 3-8 Sennyuji Suzumegamoricho, a 10-minute walk from Karasuma train station and a 5-minute walk from Tofukuji train station. The Shikokuan property is situated at 293-7 Shimizu-cho, Matsubara-agaru, Kawaramachi-dori, Shimogyo-ku, in the heart of Kyoto, on a serene back street near the Takesegawa River, one of the most popular cherry blossom spots in Kyoto. It is near to Gion, where Geisha are frequently spotted on Hanamikoji street, and the traditional cobbled streets of Ponto-cho (an area with restaurants and shops). The bus stop and train station are just a 6-minute walk from the hotel. The Tokiwa-an property is situated at 332-6 Kagiya-cho-dori, Karasuma Nishi-iru, Kagiya-cho-dori, Shimogyo-ku, a 3-minute walk from Gojo metro station, which is just one stop from Kyoto station/Karasuma station. A convenient base for sightseeing around Kyoto, it is also away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. The Shobuan property is located at 240 Eiyouji-cho Takatsuji aburanokoji, Higashi-iru, Shimogyo-ku, just a few minutes from Karasuma station near the Nishi Hongan-ji temple and Higashi Hongan-ji temple. The Suoan property is located at Eiyouji-cho Takatsuji aburanokoji, Higashi-iru, Shimogyo-ku, a few minutes from Karasuma station and close to the Nishi Hongan-ji temple and the Higashi Hongan-ji temple. All accommodation units are en suite with a shower. Each residence offers Western and Japanese beds, a living area and a kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities and a washing machine. Some accommodation units have free wireless Internet access. Individually regulated air conditioning is a standard feature in all accommodation.
