Travelers who have visited Hubei Province within the last 14 days, or who have passports issued in Hubei Province, are forbidden from entering Japan effective from Feb 1.

Kiraku Obi is comprised of two separate vacation homes, Katsume and Ohya, both offered as exclusive stays where guests can enjoy an entire Home all to themselves. Each Home has been carefully renovated to preserve its time-weathered beauty wherever possible, while offering familiar comforts, such as Wi-Fi, modern bathrooms, room cleaning, and crisp linens. Within its spacious 1100 premise, Katsume boasts a private "Karesansui" garden, which is said to have been created in the 18th century and has been designated a "place of scenic beauty" by Miyazaki Prefecture. Originally a "Nagaya-mon" (gate-house) for a larger Samurai estate dating back to the Edo period (1603 through 1868), Ohya has been transformed to highlight traditional Japanese architectural features such as an irori (sunken hearth), as well as a doma "(traditional earthen floor) featuring an "okudo-san"(traditional stove). Both Homes are fitted with a large Koyamaki (wooden) bathtub, as well as a full kitchen among other comforts, providing guests the opportunity to explore and experience this wonderful feudal town like a local. Once the center of a 51,000 "koku" fiefdom ruled by the Ito clan for close to three centuries, Obi is a quaint castle town with streets lined with samurai and merchant villas. Moss covered shrines, Obi Castle, and a "Han" school built by the Ito Clan are among some of the cultural gems that make up Obi's Edo-period townscape. Enjoy experiences such as "shimanto" archery, as well as local cuisine such as Miyazaki style grilled chicken, or Obi-made "shochu". Nearby places to visit include Udo Shrine, the Sakamoto Rice Terraces, and the Nichinan beaches, popular for surfing and other marine sports.
